Bazley's Star Rosette
Pictures by Thomas S. Bazley
A star rosette of white looping lines on a black disc, made by Thomas S. Bazley and published in London in 1872. Bazley cut the design on a lathe fitted with a set of gears that swept the cutting point round and round in loops, then printed it as white lines on black. For someone who loves maths, pattern and fine design.
