The Empress
Pictures by Pamela Colman Smith
The Empress from Pamela Colman Smith's 1909 tarot deck sits crowned with twelve stars among ripe wheat, a forest and a running stream, under the words 'Abundance, love and growing things'. In tarot she stands for nature at its most generous: care, comfort and everything that grows. For someone who looks after the people around them.
