Eight Views of Kanazawa
Pictures by Utagawa Hiroshige
A full moon rises over the islands and turquoise bays of Kanazawa in Utagawa Hiroshige's 1857 woodblock print, with geese crossing the sky and boats resting on still water. Hiroshige spread this view of the coast near today's Yokohama across three sheets, and it was one of his last great landscapes. For someone who loves quiet places and Japanese art.
