The life
1819–1904Born Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
Martin Johnson Heade painted the quiet salt marshes of New England and then, after travelling to Brazil in 1863, the tiny hummingbirds he loved, among orchids and passionflowers in misty forests. Late in life, in Florida, he painted magnolias and other flowers laid on velvet. Our cards include his hummingbirds and his magnolias.
