Hummingbird and Apple Blossoms

Pictures by Martin Johnson Heade

Martin Johnson Heade's apple blossoms open pink and white against a stormy sky, with a simple message inside: you make everything better, happy Mother's Day, with love. Heade was an American painter who studied hummingbirds, orchids and magnolias with a naturalist's eye and painted them in soft light. For a wonderful mother.
