The life
active 1870s
George Degen was a print publisher in New York in the 1870s. He issued large lithographed bird’s-eye views, among them a view of New York drawn by George Schlegel and a view of St. Louis seen from above the Mississippi, both from about 1873. Little more is recorded of his life. Our card St. Louis comes from the St. Louis view he published.
