The life
1863–1944Born Ådalsbruk, Løten, Norway
Edvard Munch is best known for The Scream (1893), but he painted the whole of life: love, worry, grief and the long light of Norwegian summer nights. He worked in Berlin and Paris before settling near Oslo, and left most of his work to the city. Our cards are two of his gentler pictures, The Girls on the Bridge and The Fairytale Forest.
