The life
died 1898
Cha Yun was a deputy inspector of river administration in China in the Tongzhi reign (1862–1874), and died in January 1898. He made an official map of the Yellow River works, painted in ink and colour on two long rolls, following the river from Tongguan in Shaanxi to Lijin in Shandong with its dikes, towns and villages. The original is in the National Library of China. Our card, The Yellow River Works, comes from that map.
