The life
1722–1762Born Augsburg, Germany
Albrecht Carl Seutter was the son of the Augsburg map publisher Matthäus Seutter and worked in the family firm as a draughtsman and engraver. After his father’s death in 1757 he ran the business until he died in 1762, when it was divided between the firm of Probst and the engraver Tobias Conrad Lotter, his brother-in-law. Our card, Miramare Castle, Trieste, opens onto his engraved view of the old port of Trieste.
