Zurich from St. Peter's Church
Pictures by Photoglob Co. and Braun & Hogenberg
The slender spire of the Fraumunster rises over red roofs and the Limmat river, with Lake Zurich and the snowy Alps beyond, in a hand-coloured photochrom from about 1895. The view was taken from St. Peter's Church, whose clock faces are the largest of any church in Europe, and inside opens onto an old bird's-eye map of the city. For someone who loves Zurich or longs to travel.
