No. 1 of 15 · The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
You Are Unusual
Pictures by W. W. DenslowWords by L. Frank Baum
W. W. Denslow's Scarecrow sits on the great green throne of Oz while Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion and Toto look on, with Baum's line inside: "Am I really wonderful?" "You are unusual..." The picture comes from the first edition of 1900, when Baum's Oz was printed with Denslow's colour plates, long before the famous film. For someone wonderfully one of a kind.
