Namur: The Citadel over the Meuse
Pictures by Photoglob Co. and Braun & Hogenberg
A hand-coloured photochrom from about 1895 shows the citadel of Namur on its hill, above the town front and the wide turquoise Meuse, where small boats drift by. Inside, Braun and Hogenberg's old map shows the same walled town from above. Namur is the capital of Wallonia, the French-speaking south of Belgium. For someone who loves to travel.
