Scorpio
Words by Charles F. Blunt
The constellation Scorpio glows in gold across a navy night sky, taken from Charles F. Blunt's The Beauty of the Heavens of 1842, a lecture on astronomy told in hand-coloured scenes. In the old story the scorpion was sent to sting the hunter Orion, so the two were set on opposite sides of the sky, with the red star Antares at its heart. For a Scorpio born between October 23 and November 21.
