Nice: Castle Hill and the Bay
Pictures by Photoglob Co.
A hand-coloured photochrom from about 1895 shows the shore of Nice curving around a blue Mediterranean bay toward Castle Hill and the old town, with an antique Baedeker map of the city inside. The card notes that Nice's famous seafront, the Promenade des Anglais, began in the 1820s as a simple path by the sea. For someone who loves the Riviera or is about to travel.
