Tachibana Minko (橘岷江) was a print designer of the Edo period whose birth and death dates are not known. Japanese sources say he came from Kyoto, where he worked as an embroiderer of costume patterns, before moving to Edo. He was active from the mid-1760s, when Edo's poets and collectors were trading privately printed picture calendars, and his style is close to that of Suzuki Harunobu. His picture book of craftsmen at work (1770) is admired for its soft color gradations. In 1765 he designed a series on the foxes' wedding, from the old saying that rain falling while the sun shines means the foxes are holding a wedding procession. Picturepops cards use The Bride Traveling in the Rain from that series.
