Seale is known to us only by the surname engraved on the plate. The Wellcome Collection in London holds this coloured engraving, published in London and signed by Seale, but the record gives no first name or date, and we have not been able to tell which of the engravers called Seale made it. Our card, The Solar System, is that plate: the Sun inside a wide halo of blue rays, with the planets’ orbits in fine rings around it.
