The life
1896–1973Born Tartu, Estonia
Rudolf Paris is remembered as the only Bauhaus student from Estonia. From 1922 to 1925 he studied in the Weimar wall-painting workshop under Oskar Schlemmer and Wassily Kandinsky, and a wall he painted there appears in the Bauhaus book of 1923. He later worked as a painter and graphic artist, an art historian and critic, and a collector, and he died in Freudenstadt in Germany. Our card, Pyramid and Squares, is the original lithograph he made for that 1923 book.
