The life

John F. Murphy was a Boston businessman who published colourful bird’s-eye maps of Boston Harbor, the South Shore and Cape Cod for summer visitors and steamboat passengers around the turn of the twentieth century. Little else is known about him, and his views were printed by Boston engraving firms. Our card, Cape Cod, is his 1905 bird’s-eye view of the Cape curling out into the sea, with Provincetown at its tip.
