The life
1856–1910Born Douai, France
Henri-Edmond Cross was born Henri-Edmond Delacroix and changed his name to stand apart from the famous painter. He took up Seurat’s method of dots and, living on the Mediterranean coast in the south of France, turned it into broad, glowing strokes. His colour inspired the young Matisse. Our cards are Landscape with Stars and The Pink Cloud.
